ABS deposition

FDM is a compromise between powder sintering and stereolithography.
FDM, or Fused Deposition Modelling, is a 3D printing process also known as "fused filament fabrication" or, sometimes, as plastic jet printing.
We can manufacture objects in ABS in different colours. This technology is perfect for checking mechanical and thermal properties.

Process

This technology based on the extrusion of a melted filament works on a simple principle: a plastic filament of about 1/10th of a millimetre is extruded through a nozzle that moves over a tray thus building the object layer by layer.
As with Stereolithography, supports are required in order to make the objects but they are made from a soluble material which means highly complex structures can be produced.
